For 1958, Ford Motor Company introduced a new mid-priced brand to better compete with General Motors and Chrysler. Edsel came in four separate series. The top-of-the-line Citation featured special molding and medallions, and it was available with two- or three-tone paint. The four-door hardtop sedan started at $3,580. Edsel was not a success. Ford discontinued the brand during the 1960 model year.
