Our company event turned out great — the staff and event planners made the planning experience easy and were available for any questions we had. Would recommend other companies host events for their staff w/the Henry Ford. Thank you!
Tina - Portland, OR - September 2023
Wow. This place was amazing. It was so fascinating to see something that you see everyday being made and the work that is behind it. The experience starts with a couple short videos and then you get to walk around some raised walkways viewing the assembly. Absolutely brilliant.
NickMiller_Clarity - Concord, MA - June 2024
Just amazing to watch the Ford F-150s assembled. I lingered for almost two hours, watching multiple assembly line stations for a few minutes each... how did each station work, how did the parts fit into place, how were they secured, what pieces were installed before which other pieces. Amazing to watch... and then see finished trucks driven out of the building. 900 a day.
AEH_03142020 - September 2024
The factory was great. We enjoyed the videos explaining how Ford came to be, and the guides on the roof were able to answer all our questions. The factory itself was very interesting and I could have spent another hour exploring.
2doglady - TN - August 2025
We have been on a number of car plant tours. They mostly drive you through and point to the procedures as they talk to you on the headphones. While that is a great way to see how our cars are made, the Ford tour lets you walk through at your own pace since it is on an elevated walkway where you can see what is happening without getting in the way. … We spent about 2 and a half hours from bus pick up to bus return. We had a very enjoyable time, thought the films were great, and really enjoyed seeing the cars on the assembly line. ... Highly recommend this activity as part of your visit to The Henry Ford Museum.
Traveler2AM - Poughkeepsie, NY - September 2025
I had no idea how automated the building of a car can be. The building is attractive, and the tour is well organized. You'll also get plenty of history. See the observation deck and the living roof.
Jenilynne2017 - Willow Springs, MO - July 2023
My family loved this place! The Model T ride was wonderful and well worth the wait time. Every building had signs explaining their purpose and/or history or a costumed interpreter or other staff member to provide information and answer questions. Between the signs and the app, it was clear which buildings had been moved there, were built there using some original material or were built there using new (at the time) materials. ... We had to rush through some of the areas to be able to see everything, so I could have spent one or two more days.
BFtime - Fillmore, CA - October 2023
A must see while visiting Dearborn! If you are a historical or architectural enthusiast or just want to spend a nice day with family and friends, Greenfield Village is a wonderful place to visit! Walking in the park surrounded by fascinating historical buildings and beautiful manicured grounds, it almost feels like you have walked into the past! Greenfield Village allows the visitor to enjoy, not only the buildings and grounds, but to appreciate the contributions of so many heroes from all walks of life who have helped to make the world we live in a better place!
Leann B. - Oklahoma City, OK - June 2024
We had a great time in Greenfield Village and wish we had been able to stay longer. The displays were amazing! It was so fulfilling to see homes and workshops of Ford, Edison, Frost, McGuffy, Heinz, Webster, and many others. It is a MUST go!
Eric - Cuyahoga Falls, OH - August 2024
Kids and I had a great time and walk (and ride) through history. Kids loved riding the steam train and in the model T. My son especially liked catching the 1930 Ford bus to get around 'town'. Lots of living history with static displays and live interaction in the craft area including glass blowing, weaving and printing, not to mention the machine shop and pottery. There was absolutely a moment as I walked down Main Street that I really felt I had been drawn back in time and could easily be in a small town in the 1920s or 30s. Great experience and will go back.
DJ - Toledo, OH - August 2025
This is a beautiful and interesting collection of buildings and representation of their places in history. The interpretative staff is phenomenal in their knowledge base and friendliness. Plan to spend the whole day — or better still get a membership so you can take 2 days to see it all. Get a ride pass so you can be driven around in a Model T — so fun!
A M - Downers Grove, IL - August 2025
This is my favorite part of the Henry Ford membership. It is a working museum with old cars, buggies and horse carriages bringing guests around. Volunteers are dressed up and explain the history of the buildings. We loved taking the train ride and hopping on/off. We had lunch at Stand 44 which is fabulous. There is a good variety of delicious food. I enjoyed my grilled chicken and beef bacon sandwich in a gluten free bun. I would LOVE to come back in the Fall because I am sure it will be absolutely beautiful and decorated.
Phvi2617 - Anaheim, CA - December 2024
The Henry Ford Museum is part of a larger complex including Greenfield Village, the Ford factory tour, and a giant-screen theater. The museum itself explores the subject of American innovation, which includes everything from technological development to historical and cultural progress. … I also found the aviation and automotive areas particularly interesting. While one would expect the Ford Motor Company to be featured, there are examples of auto innovation and culture from all makers, including several presidential limousines. The docents were very knowledgeable and friendly, and overall this is a fantastic museum that is absolutely worth a visit.
Geraldine P. - Birmingham, MI - June 2025
The Henry Ford offers a remarkable experience that captures the spirit of American innovation, culture, and the evolution of the automotive industry, making it a perfect destination to share with friends and family from around the world. From historical artifacts to cutting-edge exhibits, it provides a truly global perspective on the ingenuity that shaped the United States. The entire experience is seamlessly run by a dedicated and knowledgeable staff, making it feel like a well-oiled machine fueled by passion and care.
561laurrim - Allen, TX - June 2025
We went to see the museum today, and we were very impressed by how much it had changed since we last saw it (I saw it in 1989 and my husband in 1995). Lots of beautiful cars including Presidential cars. There were a lot different exhibits: farming, trains, furniture, early days of flight, a modern glass gallery, and more. One of my favorites was the Dymaxion house. A must see museum if you are in the Detroit area.
VA-short-term - Richmond, VA - July 2025
This museum is one of the very best in the USA. I went with a group of fifty people I dare say that everyone was amazed at the enormity of the presentation of the American Innovation and Inventions of every imaginable items. Cars, planes, industrial equipment, and on and on. A must see museum.
Travel_pros1981 - Charleston, NC - August 2025
The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation is a vast display with numerous areas to explore. Our tour started with a trip to the Lamy's Diner. We were able to sit inside the classic diner and enjoy a great lunch. ... After lunch we began our tour at the display of presidential vehicles. We really liked the DC-3 airplane hanging in the atrium of the museum. Other favorites included the Rosa Parks Bus, the Ford Assembly Line display, the Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile. ... We look forward to going back and exploring more of the complex. We would highly recommend visiting the site.
Tina W. - September 2025
We love to visit the Henry Ford Museum! They have the best train collection and the history is so inspiring. I highly recommend visiting with friends, family, or even by yourself!
Akballard - Morgantown, WV - June 2025
This was a good museum. There were actually two parts to this museum. The village and the museum itself. We spent five hours there and really needed more time to see everything. We got our steps in this day and had a good lunch!
Sswoger - Austintown, OH - June 2025
This was a place I've wanted to go to for many years, I was not disappointed. I would recommend the pass that gets you access to all places: museum, village, factory tour and the movie of your choice. I would also recommend the ride pass as well, the village is HUGE and takes a lot of walking to see everything. Each place was unique and enjoyable. From the diverse collections in the museum, to the village that has so many buildings and items, to finally the tour of the truck plant The highlight of our visit was the rides in actual model T vehicles throughout the village. For me, this was a bucket list item that I can now finally cross off my list and move on to the next one.
Travelintheusa – Lexington, KY – May 2025
If you LOVE HISTORY, this is THE place!! Definitely need three full days if you want to see everything. Spend one day in the indoor museum and two days exploring all the historic buildings. Recommend getting a yearly pass so you can come a go for as many days as you like. Definitely get the transportation option to ride in a Model-T, take the steam engine train ride and ride the Carousel. MUST get the Ford F-150 factory tour!!!
Michaela - Birmingham, MI - August 2025
My wife and I visited the Museum with friends who live in Michigan. It was part of a day spent at The Henry Ford where we toured the Factory and the Museum. Both elements were amazing and fascinating. We learned so much and we were constantly intrigued by the exhibits in the Museum. For me, personally, the row of Presidential limousines was a highlight. In addition, living in Massachusetts, the diner was a great place to have lunch and share my own nostalgia with our friends. We spent the entire afternoon in the museum, but honestly, we could have spent a couple of days in there. There was so much to see and it was all interesting. I highly recommend the experience and look forward to returning in the future.
Angie - October 2025
This museum far exceeded our expectations. It’s absolutely massive! We spent about 5½ hours exploring and still didn’t see everything — it’s that big. The outdoor village is a highlight in itself, with a variety of historic buildings and hands-on demonstrations. We watched glassblowing and clay work in action, crawled under an old train, and even explored a sawmill. One of our favorite stops was the Wright brothers’ shop — complete with their bicycle garage in the front and airplane workshop in the back. ... Inside the museum, the collection is just as impressive. From vintage cars that captivate visitors of all ages, to a nostalgic display of old telephones that amazed both us and the kids, there’s something for everyone.
Neil Barclay, President of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
The Henry Ford has been an exceptional steward of artifacts that tell our nation's stories of innovation, ingenuity and resourcefulness. Its unparalleled collections documenting the American experience preserve our shared history and inspire each of us to help create a better future. With its recent acquisition of the Jackson Home, The Henry Ford will be able to present the story of its prominent role in the early days of the modern American civil rights movement and the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to millions of visitors.
Darren Walker, President, Ford Foundation
It is imperative that places of historic importance marking the contributions of African Americans be restored and preserved. The Jackson Home represents one such significant property, a structure steeped in history and culture. The Henry Ford's collaboration with Ms. Jawana Jackson represents a critical step in ensuring that this iconic American property is preserved and will be visited by millions of visitors.
Gretchen Sullivan Sorin, Ph.D., Director and Distinguished Professor at Cooperstown Graduate Program/SUNY Oneonta and author of Driving While Black: African American Travel and the Road to Civil Rights
Not every historic building can be preserved in its original location and for this reason, so many important places are forever lost. Not so for the Jackson Home that will find new life and meaning at The Henry Ford's Greenfield Village. The Jacksons are unsung heroes. Their generosity and courage show us how we, as ordinary Americans, can stand up against injustice and for the beloved community. The Henry Ford has taken a leadership role in broadening the history that museums can tell and enabling us all to envision a shared legacy that makes us stronger as a democratic nation of many diverse people.
Laura Lott, Former President & CEO, American Alliance of Museums
The Henry Ford has the expertise necessary to physically preserve the Jackson Home and its artifacts and to share its powerful story. In my view, the Jackson Home will be in excellent hands and will receive all of the care and attention this historically significant structure deserves.
The Hon. Abdullah Hammoud, Mayor of the City of Dearborn, Michigan
The city of Dearborn, Michigan, is blessed with many community assets. Among them is the State of Michigan's leading cultural tourism destination, The Henry Ford. For more than 90 years, it has drawn visitors from all 50 states and around the world to its National Historic Landmark campus. Its outdoor history complex, Greenfield Village, features 83 historic structures, all but one of which was brought to the site from a different point of origin. The Henry Ford has now been entrusted by its owner to take possession and bring to the Village the historic Jackson Home from Selma, Alabama. Here, the Home will benefit from The Henry Ford's resources that will protect its physical integrity in perpetuity and share its stories of the pivotal role it played in the civil rights movement of the 1960s with millions of in-person and virtual visitors.
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, MI-6th Congressional District
As an internationally renowned American history complex and Michigan's leading cultural tourism destination, The Henry Ford is well positioned to preserve the Jackson Home within Greenfield Village and share its important stories with the world. Together with the Rosa Parks bus, already a part of the museum's collections, the Jackson Home will serve as a powerful platform for inspiring this and future generations with the stories of America's struggles for equal rights for all.
Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, MI-12th Congressional District
We are honored to be able to host and preserve The Jackson Home at Greenfield Village and share its incredible history at the heart of the civil rights movement with the world. I am so thankful for Ms. Jawana Jackson’s tireless efforts to secure the future of this home and for entrusting The Henry Ford to carry on its legacy. I've always said that Detroit is a city where movements are born, where you can find reminders of the fight for freedom and equality around every corner, and this addition to our community will be right at home. It's so critically important that we continue to educate people about the history of the civil rights movement, and I trust The Jackson Home will inspire countless new leaders to continue fighting for the world we all deserve.
The Hon. Jannie Thomas, Councilmember, City of Selma, Ward 7
I've known the Sullivan Jackson family all my life. When Jawana confided in me about plans to move the historic Jackson Home to The Henry Ford, I immediately supported her decision to preserve her home and its place in civil rights history. As the councilperson who represents the district of the historic Jackson Home, I, along with Mayor James Perkins and Selma City Council, look forward to beginning a dialogue with The Henry Ford. We look forward to this exciting new chapter for the Jackson Home.
The Hon. James Perkins Jr., Mayor of the City of Selma, Alabama
I celebrate the Jackson family's contribution to the 1960s Voting Rights Movement and express appreciation to The Henry Ford for relocating this valuable asset to historic Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. My hope is that the Jackson family, The Henry Ford, the city of Selma and the nation, immensely benefit from this powerful preservation initiative.
Our guests are still commenting on how exceptional the food & desserts were!!

Great experience from planning to execution of the party. Amazing venue, food was excellent and all of the staff were great to work with. Very friendly and detail oriented.
I am extremely happy I chose The Henry Ford to host my wedding. The venue space is absolutely stunning, the food was delicious and all of the staff we worked with were so pleasant and generous.

One of the best museums I have ever visited. The Village is a place where you can stay all day in nice weather. Ride around the Village with original T-models or real steamlock or with carriages - visit the glassblowers or see how cheese is made and and and and ...... Listening to the employees.... Most of them have been around for a long time and can answer almost any question. And then there's the museum - you can find pretty much everything that moved in Henry Ford's time and more. If you are in the area ..... That's where you HAVE to go.
I could not have imagined a better wedding. The staff was attentive and kind, and the food was amazing. You made my dream wedding possible, and actually exceeded expectations.
Our wedding at The Henry Ford exceeded our expectations! The staff were amazing to work with and made sure everything ran smoothly and looked phenomenal. We are so appreciative for everything and will remember our wedding day forever!
Best service and hospitality we have ever seen at a wedding! The staff day of (and before) was absolutely phenomenal. Their attention to detail was flawless and they made sure we were happy throughout the entire evening. We couldn't have asked for a better team.
Our company event turned out great — the staff and event planners made the planning experience easy and were available for any questions we had. Would recommend other companies host events for their staff w/the Henry Ford. Thank you!
The food was amazing. I heard from friends and guests that it was some of the best wedding food they've had! So, so good and the chef was awesome.
The Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony, Chairman of the Detroit Branch NAACP and Member of the NAACP National Board of Directors
"The Henry Ford is magnifying not just Dr. King’s dream to show where he actually laid out a plan to inspire future generations to continue their march towards justice, voting rights, and civil rights...."
Jawana Jackson, daughter of Dr. Sullivan Jackson and Mrs. Richie Jean Sherrod
I am honored to partner with The Henry Ford to enhance the visitor experience with the addition of the Jackson Home at Greenfield Village. This historic private residence will now be included among other nationally significant homes and artifacts...
