Artifact Overview

For 1958, Ford Motor Company introduced a new mid-priced brand to better compete with General Motors and Chrysler. Edsel came in four separate series. The base-level Ranger featured a Ford-inspired body with minimal trim. The two-door hardtop sedan started at $2,484. Edsel was not a success. Ford discontinued the brand during the 1960 model year.
